Phil Presswood Specialist Cars is delighted to offer for sale this magnificent Jaguar 3.4 / 340 Automatic Saloon which was registered in 1967 and has been the subject of a comprehensive restoration. This Beautiful Mark 2 Jaguar, has been a good weather car, garaged for most of its recent life and only driven in sunny dry conditions. The Engine is quite simply outstanding having been rebuilt less than 1500 miles ago and the Automatic Gearbox is a real delight with very smooth changes up or down the box. In 2016 Southern Engine Services in South East London carried out work at a cost of over £10,000.00, by removing the engine from the car when it was completely stripped and overhauled, new exhaust manifolds and a complete new stainless steel exhaust system fitted. The SU carburettors were stripped, overhauled and adjusted, the water pump was replaced, the radiator re-conditioned, new rear axle shaft seals fitted and new steering box rod pins fitted. As a result of the rebuilt engine and recent works, the car is in exceptional mechanical condition and can be driven with absolute confidence. The superb colour combination of the metallic gunmetal grey coachwork with the red leather upholstery and trim, coupled with the Coombs style wheel arches, the chrome body trim and the Chrome wire wheels with two ear knock ons give this car a wonderful presence anywhere. The car has recently has a £2000.00 under body treatment involving stripping off the old under seal, rust treated where needed and all Wax Oiled. The bumpers and over riders were re-chromed in May of 2019 and the excellent wire wheels are all shod with same make tyres. The engine compartment, boot, interior and door cards etc have been detailed to an excellent level and the wooden door cappings are near perfect.
